English BigDict comprehensive dictionary & thesaurus offline App Reviews

Just purchased the software and it already asked for a review. So, thought it best to do one to stop the pop up. It seems fast enough, pretty comprehensive and what I like about it are the following things: 1. Word combinations 2. Good examples 3. Translation into other languages 4. Etymology (great for new teachers like me) One problem: dont bother to click on "more" it takes forever! This is an application programming problem and something the developer can, and should, fix.

Only dictionary that s never been updated since 2010. Missing a lot of features, no bookmark, no history, no font adjustment, and more than 300 MB. The price is $8.99. There are cheaper,better apps out there.

I am not satisfied with this application. Its not worth what you paid for.

This excellent dictionary that was one of my favorites that I relied on now crashes when I try to search anything. Apparently it doesnt work at all with iOS8, which I updated to in the last few days.

Description does not disclose that this app does not function on iOS8. Apple should refund full purchase price.

This program used to work but is now completely non-functional. It just closes when you try to look something up.

My rating is very low because the app crashes every time I type in a word to look up. Although the app appears to be filled with a lot of useful content, it is very frustrating to me that I cant access it on my iPhone. Updating the app by the developer to be compatible with current devices and OS I think is whats needed to address my issue. I see other reviewers have the same issue.

Used to love this app. With the upgrade to iOS 8 it crashes on startup. EVERY TIME! And its been months with no fix! Booooooooooo

Useless with current OS. Developer disappeared. Never updated for 5 years. Asking Apple for money back.

Just down loaded it to iPhone 6 only to be disappointed. When I try to scroll or enter a term to search, the App shuts down. That was quite expensive for something I cant even use. How do I get a refund or a functioning version?

I did not take heed of another reviewer who warned that the app crashes immediately upon startup. Unfortunately he is correct and the app is in usable. I cannot operate the app on my iPhone 6 plus. DO NOT BUY

I use this when explaining etymology to Japanese friends and business acquaintances. They learn how interesting the roots of English are.
